On Sunday, January 25, 2009, Unitarian Universalist Association President
William G. Sinkford delivered a living wage sermon as part of the UUA
Action of the Month on Living Wages
(http://www.uua.org/socialjustice/actioncenter/122104.shtml ) and the
national Let Justice Roll Living Wage Days
(http://www.letjusticeroll.org/livingwagedays.html) at the Unitarian
Universalist Church of Nashua New Hampshire.
Sinkford chose the Nashua
congregation to recognize their work in helping to achieve the last
federal minimum wage increase, raising New Hampshire's minimum wage
above the federal level, and supporting low-wage workers and their
families.
The Unitarian Universalist Association and the Unitarian Universalist
Service Committee (UUSC) are members of the interfaith Let Justice Roll
Living Wage Campaign, (http://www.letjusticeroll.org/) a nonpartisan
coalition of more than 90 faith, community, labor and business
organizations. This campaign, launched the "$10 in 10" campaign to raise
the federal minimum wage to $10 an hour in 2010.
