Through the Tunnel: A Time to Emerge
Reverend Dee Graham
Life isn't all black and white, but sometimes it seems like it, especially if we find ourselves caught on one side of a racial divide. The Rev. Dee Graham asks us to step outside our comfort zones for a moment in time and consider how we have changed thanks to the turmoil or unexpected challenges of diversity in our lives.
A birthright Southerner and Unitarian Universalist minister, Dee's father was the grandson of a Confederate veteran while her mother's family housed a station on the underground railroad. Having raised her own children in a mixed race family, she finds her biggest challenges come down to getting past her own tunnel vision. In this sermon, she invites us to join her on the journey toward freedom. |

Thirteen Indigenous Grandmothers
Reverend Pat Jobe
From the point of view of native spirituality, 13 Grandmothers representing cultures from around the world have begun a movement of interfaith dialogue and advocacy for peace, environmental justice and holistic living. Their story has impacted our congregation at a number of levels. The film that tells their story will be shown March 1 at the Koger Center for the whole community. |
